We thank Mr Steve Goh Han Choon for his feedback ("Conserve steel truss bridge in Sunset Way"; Tuesday).

We recognise the historical significance of the steel truss bridge across Sungei Ulu Pandan as part of the former Keretapi Tanah Melayu Jurong Line, which has been disused since the 1970s.

For safety reasons, the bridge is temporarily closed to the public today.

We are working with the relevant agencies to study ways to retain the bridge, and how it can feature as a prominent and functional landmark in the future plans for the area.
