The end for aquarium, but not for fish

While the news of the closure of Underwater World has saddened me, I am heartened by its decision to close before its lease is up, to facilitate the transfer of marine creatures ("Underwater World to close its doors on June 26"; June 7).

I am glad that this will not be the end for the marine creatures in this aquarium.

Some have moved to Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai, China, which was picked after a year of reviewing different facilities.

Specialists accompanying the marine creatures on their journey to their new homes will reduce their stress and prevent deaths from infections and other diseases during the transfer.

It is good to see that Underwater World is responsible and has well-thought-out plans for the marine animals, to ensure their survival.

I hope it will be able to find new homes for the rest of the marine animals soon.
