Swimmer Joseph Schooling's success story is one that should be shared with our young sporting fraternity ("Success is a family affair"; Sept 13).

Not all our young athletes can win medals, but they still need motivational stories to spur them on.

Schooling, himself a young man who can connect well with our young athletes, can provide that vision.

I hope the Singapore Sports School will start a motivational speech programme. It could invite Schooling or his parents as speakers.

The message could be: If Joseph Schooling can achieve his dream, so can our youth of today.
