Robot teachers for the future?

It is inevitable that we will live in a world where humans and robots co-exist ("Living with robots"; last Saturday).

It would be interesting if robots are deployed in schools. Perhaps called "SQoolBots", these robots can be programmed to do some of the routine jobs of a human teacher, such as taking attendance, marking worksheets, going through corrections and answering students' questions.

SQoolBots can surely enrich the learning experience of students - including those with special needs. Robots can also be employed to assist in non-academic tasks, such as administration.
