Remembering Siva Choy's altruistic side

The late blues musician Siva Choy had a great impact on the local music industry (Veteran musician Siva Choy dies at 70; March 5).

He also had an altruistic side.

I had the joy of working with him while organising a charity concert in 1981 at the former Neptune Theatre Restaurant.

Choy, together with other entertainers, had voluntarily contributed his services and helped to raise $85,000 for charity.

He also spent time and effort to coach and nurture young music enthusiasts.

I am grateful for his charitable actions, as I bid goodbye to this multi-talented artist, creative writer and outstanding comic.
