Pakistan committed in fight against terrorism

The news analysis, "Fruit basket of Pakistan a hotbed of terrorism" (Oct 27), may have given the impression that Pakistan has been unable to curb terrorism owing to its policy of differentiating between the various factions of terrorists.

Pakistan has been at the forefront of the global struggle against militancy, extremism and terrorism.

Its armed forces and people have rendered enormous sacrifices in blood and coin. This has been acknowledged by the international community.

Currently, the country's armed forces are engaged in a military operation known as Zarb-e-Azb in the mountainous terrain of Pakistan, along the Afghan border, to root out militancy and terrorism.

Pakistan is determined to deal with this menace absolutely without any discrimination, fear or favour.
