Number of users did not justify upkeep of old machines

We thank Mr Yeo Yujin for sharing his thoughts (Let's not go cashless mindlessly; Forum Online, Jan 17).

ActiveSG offers a number of ways for people to pay for pool admissions.

They can do so by tapping their ez-link or Nets FlashPay cards, or by scanning a QR code using their phone at our gantries.

Due to the convenience of having to bring just a card or a phone, these methods have become very popular with the majority of our pool users.

Hence, we decided to phase out the cash ticket machines at our swimming complexes last November, as the cost of keeping the machines has become disproportionate to the minority of pools users who use the machines.

ActiveSG guest officers are also stationed at all our swimming complexes to help the remaining pool users make the change.

We welcome feedback from our sport centre users and, where necessary, will make changes to ensure a pleasant and hassle-free experience for everyone.
