New army uniforms commendable

I would like to applaud the Government for investing in new and improved army uniforms to better equip national servicemen (Army combat soldiers get new uniforms that cool faster; June 21).

The new uniform reduces the risk of heat injury during outfield training, whereas the previous version of the uniform did not provide as much comfort.

In addition, it is pleasing to note that more improvements have been made to allow an easier training platform for NSFs, such as providing more time for them to train and pass their Individual Physical Proficiency Test.

I urge the Government to continue looking after the NSFs and NSmen, and to not cease improving the national service programme for all.
