Make-up pay process for NSmen clarified

We thank Mr Tan Kin Lian for his feedback on the National Service (NS) make-up pay verification process (Simplify process to certify NSmen's salary claims; Jan 23).

Employers are required to verify their operationally-ready national servicemen (NSmen) employees' information, such as employment status and income, for make-up pay to be processed accurately.

To help employers do this, a link is sent to them via e-mail. This is similar to what Mr Tan would have received.

The link directs employers to the NS Portal homepage for secure login via SingPass.

Employers can then access the employer's dashboard in two steps to verify a claim.

Our system records show that Mr Tan had keyed in an invalid CPF submission number, which may have prevented him from completing the claim verification process.
