LTA working to enable more online transactions

We thank Mr Ng Kei Yong for his letter (Let simple transactions be done online; May 23).

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) requires proof that vehicle transfer applications are authorised by the registered vehicle owner.

The registered owner can also choose to apply online via the One Motoring website for a Transaction Pin (TPin), with which a transfer can be made through any authorised electronic service agent (ESA).

A list of CaseTrust-Singapore Vehicle Traders Association (SVTA) accredited ESAs can be found on the One Motoring website.

The LTA will also be replacing the TPin with SingPass two-factor authentication (2FA) to enable more transactions, including vehicle transfers, to be performed online directly between transacting parties.
