Look into sleep issues of shift workers

I fully agree with yesterday's analysis ("Don't snooze on sleep issue").

Besides teenagers, shift workers are also at risk of sleep deprivation.

Those who often switch between day and night shifts are subjected to chronic disruptions of their circadian rhythm, or body clock, which could spell potential health problems in the longer term.

I hope the Health Ministry can do more to educate such workers and their employers on measures to mitigate the health risks of shift work.

It is the least we can do for these workers who keep our economy and society going while the rest of the populace enjoy their slumber.
