While Singapore aims to be a Smart Nation, we are not there yet and are lagging behind in some areas.
Recently, I had to do a vehicle transfer. Since this can only be done at the Land Transport Authority, the buyer proposed that we meet at the building before the doors opened.
Unfortunately, there was already a queue when we got there. When the doors opened, we were ushered in to join another queue. This was so long that it snaked out of the building.
Why can't we have a system where simple transactions like transferring a vehicle's ownership can be done online?
Many man-hours can be saved, and the inconvenience of waiting in a queue can be reduced.
