I am happy to read about Singapore's national culinary team being crowned champions for the first time at the Culinary Olympics ("Victorious Culinary Olympics team back"; last Saturday).

Congratulations to the team of chefs on its feat in Erfurt, Germany, and for making Singapore and Singaporeans proud.

I hope that there will be a celebration for members of the team similar to the ones held for Olympic swimming gold medallist Joseph Schooling as well as for our Paralympians, including swimmers Yip Pin Xiu and Theresa Goh, where the public can meet them and welcome them home.

I look forward to meeting the chefs then.
