Gym registration at CC should be hassle-free

I applaud Sport Singapore for having extremely well-run ActiveSG gyms at Yio Chu Kang and Toa Payoh sports complexes.

The gyms are manned by friendly and well-trained staff, who are approachable and keen to assist.

With a few taps of a screen, I was registered and my ActiveSG account was activated on the spot. The process was hassle-free and I was running on the treadmill within minutes of stepping into the complex.

In comparison, when I tried to use the gym at Potong Pasir Community Club, I was asked to provide two passport-size photos to register. I was not able to use the gym until I came back with the photos.

This is unnecessary paperwork and hampers residents who want to make the first step towards a healthier lifestyle. It also runs counter to our nation's drive to be a smart and digitised nation.

I hope the People's Association, which runs the community club, will learn from Sport Singapore and make it an easier and hassle-free process to use its facilities.
