While the Ministry of Manpower says that maid agencies have an important role to play in finding the best fit between workers and households ("Households have options for domestic help"; last Tuesday), I wonder how many of these agencies take it upon themselves to ensure the right fit is secured.

I have come across agencies that were in cahoots with their maids, concealing vital information pertaining to their age, educational qualifications and medical background.

The right fit can happen only if trust, honesty and transparency prevail between all parties concerned.
