SUPPORT GROUP FOR CAREGIVERS

Caregivers should not be left to labour in isolation and bottle up their frustrations. They need a platform to share their problems and learn from one another.

Forming an informal support group for caregivers and holding classes on first aid, talks on stress and time management, and nutrition for the elderly would be helpful.

CUTTING USE OF PLASTIC BAG S

Instead of "fining" customers for using retailers' plastic bags, why don't retailers charge them a sum enough to cover the increased cost of providing the biodegradable or compostable ones? This service would be more helpful than punishing consumers for something which they need.

ERRANT PRIVATE-HIRE CAR DRIVERS

There have been many reports of private-hire car drivers flouting rules. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) should introduce a special coloured number plate similar to the red plate for Off-Peak cars. With a coloured plate, all private-hire vehicles can easily be identified.

FOREIGN TEAMS IN S-LEAGUE

The S-League has two exclusive foreign clubs in it. These clubs do not recruit local players and use the S-League to feed their home club with players ready for senior-level competitions.

Their presence in the S-League limits the opportunities of local clubs and players to participate in the league.

Singapore Pools' sponsorship through the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is for the development of football for Singaporeans, and not for other nations.

'UNIQUELY SINGAPORE' STILL WORKS

I wonder why the Singapore Tourism Board would change a tagline like "Uniquely Singapore" to "Your Singapore" and now "Passion Made Possible".

A good tagline should not require explanation or create confusion. I still feel the tagline that fits Singapore to a T is Uniquely Singapore, because no one would ask for an explanation of its meaning.

All visitors even before they step foot into Singapore already know how unique Singapore is, be it in its governance, people, culture or tradition, food and discipline.
