Occasionally, motorists encounter a failed Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) transaction due to a faulty card, insufficient funds or faulty in-vehicle unit (IU).
They then have to pay the ERP charge and an additional $10 administrative fee within a stipulated number of days, or risk a higher fine.
However, if motorists can be allowed to pay the charge within 24 hours through a digital electronic payment system, we will be able to significantly reduce the administrative efforts as well as the stress on motorists.
I hope the authorities will consider this suggestion, as many times, the failed ERP transaction was due to a genuine mistake.
