Fall at Orchard Central

Don't make plaster board look like concrete

The death of teenager Jonathan Chow Hua Guang is one that should not have happened (Teen fell after ledge gave way under his weight; Feb 25).

If the plaster board he had stepped on was not meant to carry the weight of a person, but was there for aesthetic reasons, it should not have been made to appear like concrete or be so easily accessible.

A warning sign could have been placed so that anyone - be it a youngster like Jonathan, the mall's cleaners or even emergency crew - would know before they step on it.
