What a remarkable journey the past 50 years has been for Singapore's home-grown DBS Bank (Piyush Gupta wants DBS to be 'invisible'; March 4).
I'm a follower of the DBS Sparks mini-series, which is inspired by true stories of DBS clients.
Sparks reflects DBS' amazing transformation and rebranding from its days of being considered staid and old into the world's best digital bank and South-east Asia's No. 1 lender. The bank is hip, cool, relevant and connected to its customers.
It is heartening that DBS has also faithfully continued to be the Singaporean Everyman's bank. The daily long queues of uncles and aunties as well as parents opening their child's first bank account in its many heartland branches are evidence of this.
It will be exciting to see how the vision for DBS to become "invisible" and subsumed into people's daily lives unfolds.
