Bouquets: Kind driver waits for commuter

Kind driver waits for commuter

While crossing the road some distance away from the bus stop outside Raffles Town Club last Friday afternoon, I spotted SMRT bus service 972 at the traffic junction before the bus stop.

Fearing that I would miss the bus, I ran hastily to the bus stop. I was lucky that the bus had a considerate driver.

Noticing me sprinting towards the bus stop, he took the initiative to stop there and opened the door for me, even though there were no passengers alighting or boarding.

When I boarded the bus, the driver even smiled cheerfully at me. Pleasantly surprised by his actions, I happily smiled back. No words can express my appreciation for what he did.

Bus drivers are often under pressure to meet time schedules, but this driver went the extra mile in catering to his passengers.

I applaud the driver's gracious actions that day. Small actions can go a long way in making someone's day.
