Bouquets: Good help with stuck gantry

Good help with stuck gantry

Last Saturday morning, I was trying to exit the road leading to Bishan Stadium but the gantry arm did not rise.

Since there was a long queue of cars behind me, I backed into an odd space to let them pass.

When the road was clear, I tried to exit again. The intercom operator suggested trying alternative payment, but it did not work.

Seeing our dilemma, a driver offered us his card to try. The gantry arm shot up after that.

He was a total stranger, but he declined any reward.

My wife and I are very grateful for his help.

Air-con classrooms a great surprise

I am a Primary 5 pupil at Madrasah Irsyad Zuhri Al-Islamiah in Braddell Road.

For the last 41/2 years, I studied in non-air-conditioned classrooms. Only the Primary 6 pupils at the top floor of the building enjoyed air-conditioning.

However, when I returned to school after the recent June holidays, I was surprised to find that air-conditioners had been installed in every classroom. It was a wonderful surprise.

I am grateful to my school. Now, I can study in comfort.

Kind and caring doctor

I thank Dr Tan Ern Yu and the staff of Tan Tock Seng Hospital's Breast Clinic.

Dr Tan is not only kind and understanding but also a very helpful doctor who understands our needs, especially those of cancer patients, who are already very demoralised and sad.

I hope she and her staff will keep up the good job.
