App should tell people which hawker centres are shut

The National Environment Agency (NEA) should inform the public which hawker centres are closed.

It surprises me that the myENV app still does not have something which can alert the user when a hawker centre is shut for cleaning or renovation when walking towards it.

Hawker centres are a big part of the life of people in Singapore. Many depend on them for their daily meals. There is nothing more frustrating than making a trip to the hawker centre only to find it shut, be it for cleaning or renovation. It has happened to my colleagues and me on several occasions.

We have GPS connections which can tell us where our friends are and apps that give the weather forecast for the week but nothing on hawker centres that are shut. This feature would be more frequently used than many others, I am sure.

The feature on the myENV app could show not only which hawker centres are shut but also suggest the closest alternatives.
