The government announced a tightening of restrictions, but in only the badly affected areas for two weeks.

But its vaccine coverage is still lagging behind that of the US, Britain and leading European nations.
The easing would reportedly apply to countries in the city’s “high-risk” category, which currently includes the US and Singapore.
Swimming pools, science parks, art and cultural exhibition centres and libraries will be allowed to reopen.
Infections could start rising again in 12 to 16 weeks, said the director at the state-run All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
