Toll Group opens $300 million facility to supply offshore oil and gas vessels

Australia-listed logistics provider Toll Group on Friday opened a $300 million facility here after five years of re-development.

The facility in Loyang currently employs 160 people and will supply vessels in the marine, offshore, oil and gas industries.

It will operate round the clock and can service more than 11 vessels at once, including large vessels such as drill ships.

The so-called Toll Offshore Petroleum Services facility also includes in-house documentation and customs clearance, a multi-story ramp-up warehouse, centrally managed lay down areas, and designated areas for the safe storage of dangerous goods. It also offers office space to Toll's customers.

Toll had acquired the site - then known as the Singapore Offshore Petroleum Services facility - in 2006 and then received the approval to re-develop it in 2008.

The five-year development has resulted in today's 32 hectare site - 40 per cent or 20 hectares smaller than the previous facility, with part of the investment being put towards maximising the use of land.
