Taiwan's largest cable TV operator may seek listing in Singapore: Sources

Private equity fund MBK Partners may list Taiwan's largest cable television operator, China Network Systems, in Singapore, Bloomberg reported on Friday, citing unnamed sources.

This comes after a proposed US$2.4 billion sale of China Network Systems to Taiwan's richest man, Want Want China Holdings chairman Tsai Eng Meng, was blocked by Taiwanese regulators earlier this year, Bloomberg said.

It reported that MBK, a fund set up by former executives of asset management firm Carlyle Group, was exploring options for China Network Systems including an initial public offering (IPO) in Singapore as a business trust.

Another Taiwanese cable television operator, Asian Pay Television Trust, listed in Singapore in May. It is currently down about 10 per cent from its IPO price.
