Taiwan central bank chief says not intentionally trying to weaken Taiwan dollar

TAIPEI (REUTERS) - Taiwan's central bank governor said on Monday the bank is actively working on a currency swap agreement with China, and it is not intentionally trying to weaken the Taiwan dollar.

"It's difficult to say what's a fair price for Taiwan dollar; we can only keep its dynamic stability," governor Perng Fai-nan made the comments in a parliamentary session.

At 0152 GMT (9:52 am Singapore time), the Taiwan dollar eased T$0.015 to stand at T$29.743 to the US dollar.
