Straits Times Index closes flat while selldown on penny stocks hogs spotlight

Lack lustre trading in the local bourse led the key Straits Times Index to rise marginally for the second straight day by 0.97 point to 3,208.82.

There was continued focus on penny stocks namely Skyone, Blumont, Asiasons and LionGold which were among the most actively traded stocks.

Losers outpaced gainers 223 to 166 while 411 counters were unchanged.

Some 1.87 billion shares worth $816.2 million were done.
