Singapore shares dipped 0.24 per cent by midday on Wednesday, with the Straits Times Index shedding 7.72 points to 3,217.24 by 12.15pm.
A total of 1.9 billion shares valued at $539.4 million were done in morning trading.
Gainers led losers 158 to 108, while 696 counters were flat.
Among the gainers was United Overseas Bank, up 28 cents to $21.25, while SingTel was among those who lost ground, dipping six cents to $3.79.
