STI falls 0.7 per cent, in line with regional peers

Share prices on the Singapore bourse fell with the benchmark Straits Times Index ending the day lower by 20.98 points or 0.7 per cent to 3,060.74.

The decline was in line with other Asian markets as tapering jitters persisted ahead of the United States Federal Reserve meeting next week.

Only 92 counters rose while 266 counters fell and 439 counters were unchanged.

Some 1.36 billion shares worth $957 million were traded.
