“Kids these days”, so goes the age-old refrain of the curmudgeon. However, some preconceived notions of Gen Zs may not hold water, according to a recent survey commissioned by The Straits Times. We polled 800 Gen Zs and 600 parents of Gen Z children for their views on goals, stress, money, self-esteem and joblessness. Parents were asked to respond as they would have in their 20s.
I was surprised by some of the survey results. For instance, those in Gen Z tend to be more enterprising and more unfazed by failure. Read senior correspondent Krist Boo’s article to see what else the survey found, and decide if this bears out in reality.
