The Securities Investors Association of Singapore (Sias) has appointed ST Engineering chief executive Tan Pheng Hock as a distinguished honorary member.
Sias said in a statement that it conferred Mr Tan the distinguished honorary member status in recognition of his continued strong support for the association's programmes to educate the retail investing public and the community at large.
"ST Engineering, under the leadership of Mr Tan, is one of the pioneer supporters of Sias' investor education programmes since 2002 as he is a strong believer in an educated investing community," Sias president David Gerald said.
Mr Tan is the fifth person to be conferred the distinguished honorary member status. Others include former Monetary Authority of Singapore managing director J.Y. Pillay and United Overseas Bank chairman Hsieh Fu Hua.
