Singapore shares rose in morning trading, with the Straits Times Index climbing 12.2 points, or 0.38 per cent, to 3,255.5 as at 12.30pm.
A total of 1 billion shares worth $567.3 million were traded by midday. Gainers outweighed losers 176 to 125, with 500 counters unchanged.
Top gainers included DBS, up 23 cents to $17.47. Among top losers were UOL and Sembcorp Marine, each down 13 cents to $6.81 and $4.44 respectively.
