Share prices on the Singapore bourse rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index ending the day higher by 8.5 points or 0.3 per cent to 3,245.5.

There were almost equal numbers of gainers and losers with some 184 counters up and 183 counters down while 433 counters were unchanged.

Some 2.13 billion shares worth $1.13 billion changed hands.
