Singapore shares rose on Thursday, tracking overnight Wall Street gains on solid data in the United States.
The Straits Times Index rose 24.03 points or 0.8 per cent to 3,039.45.
Gainers included Jardine Cycle & Carriage, up 69 cents or 2.1 per cent to $33.09. The stock was rebounding from Wednesday's loss of $1.35. Investors were also encouraged by the stabilising of the rupiah, which has an impact on Jardine Cycle & Carriage due to its PT Astra Intenational stake.
Across the market, gainers outnumbered losers 265 to 146.
