Singapore shares rise 0.55% in morning trade

Singapore shares gained 0.55 per cent by midday on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index rising 17.01 points to 3,105.86 around 12.15pm.

A total of 2.1 billion shares valued at $760.7 million were done in morning trading.

Gainers led losers 190 to 145, with 464 counters unchanged.

Among the gainers was Golden Agri-Resources, up 4.5 cents to 57 cents, while Olam International was among those who lost ground, dipping two cents to $1.505.
