Singapore shares rise 0.5% in morning trade

Singapore shares gained 0.5 per cent by midday on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index rising 15.99 points to 3,250.34 around 1.15pm.

A total of 1.3 billion shares valued at $721 million were done in morning trading.

Gainers led losers 176 to 175, with 453 counters unchanged.

Among the gainers was CapitaMall Trust, up five cents to $2.08, while Keppel Corp was among those who lost ground, dipping two cents to $10.78.
