Singapore shares little changed amid muted trading in the region

Singapore shares were barely changed on Wednesday, amid a muted day across the region after trading was cancelled in Hong Kong due to the typhoon.

The local benchmark Straits Times Index rose just 4.54 points, or 0.14 per cent, to 3,248.66.

About 2.62 billion shares worth $1.14 billion changed hands.

There were 223 losers, outnumbering the 179 gainers.

GSH Corp was the most active stock, rising half a cent to 7.9 cents on a turnover of 353.7 million shares.
