Singapore shares down 0.5%, in line with most Asian markets

Share prices on the Singapore bourse fell on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index ending the day lower by 16.90 points or 0.52 per cent to 3,224.89.

Most other Asian bourses also fell as worry that the United States' Federal Reserve would dial back its stimulus re-ignited following strong manufacturing data out of the world's largest economy.

Losers led gainers 241 to 183 while 377 counters were unchanged.

Some 2 billion shares worth a total of $1 billion changed hands.
