The Singapore market was 0.51 per cent higher by midday ahead of the US Federal Reserve's decision on whether to ease its bond buying.
The STI rose 16.21 points to 3,197.13 with a volume of 3.1 billion shares changing hands. Investors appeared to have shrugged off jitters about the US Fed's move.
Gainers outnumbered losers 260 to 133.
SingTel was unchanged at $3.75. Singapore Airlines rose one cent to $10.45.
