Home-grown energy group Loyz Energy has appointed Mr Vincent Lien Jown Jing as its new chairman, with immediate effect.

With his appointment, three of the six board members will be independent directors - one more than before.

Mr Lien is also a director of a number of oil and gas and energy companies, including Hong Kong-listed UP Energy Development Group and Canada-listed Primeline Energy Holdings.

He also sits on the board of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.

Mr Lien has more than two decades of experience in the financial sector.

Loyz Energy's outgoing chairman, Mr Sim Siang Choon, will also retire as a non-executive director of the board with immediate effect.
