SINGAPORE - Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa has been fined $197,500 and $20,000 respectively, by the Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore in the first such disciplinary action taken against the two IRs this year.
The gaming regulator said the penalties were for social safeguards and other regulatory breaches detected from Jan 1 through June 30 last year.
The two IRs were penalised for failing to keep certain groups of Singapore citizens and permanent residents from entering the casinos, including those without valid entry levies, those banned by an exclusion order and those under 21 years of age.
