Minister in the Prime Minister's Office S. Iswaran will be in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum (WEF) from Thursday to Saturday.

Mr Iswaran, who is also Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade and Industry, is slated to speak at several discussions, said the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) in a statement on Wednesday.

These include sessions on cyber resilience, growth and investment in India, and the geopolitical impact of shale gas.

Mr Iswaran will also take participate in a session with other government and business leaders from Asean, the MTI said.

He will speak about the Asean Economic Community, which is targeted to come into force next year, allowing the free movement of goods and services throughout the region, among other things.

While in Davos, Mr Iswaran will also hold bilateral meetings with government ministers and top business executives on the sidelines of the WEF.

He will be accompanied by MTI officials.

The WEF is an annual gathering of government, academic and business leaders who seek to address evolving global challenges.
