Russia's central bank sells $252m in currency interventions

MOSCOW (REUTERS) - Russia's central bank sold around US$200 million (S$252 million) in currency market interventions on July 10, limiting the rouble's losses, data showed on Friday.

The central bank increases market interventions as the rouble nears the boundary of the corridor for the rouble against a currency basket - which extends from 31.75 to 38.75 roubles.

The currency basket is made up of US$0.55 and 45 euro cents.

The rouble was down 0.1 per cent at 37.12 versus the basket at 0652 GMT.
