Proxy rule for collective sales 'is timely'

A new regulation that aims to encourage owners to participate in general meetings for collective sales and minimise the risk of proxy abuse is seen as timely now that the market is revving up, observers say.

Amendments to the Land Titles (Strata) Act to restrict the number of owners a proxy can represent at such meetings came into force on Jan 18.
