Another chatbot is in town, and it will answer questions related to Singapore property.

A chatbot is software that uses artificial intelligence to carry on a conversation.

Chatbot Sevi is able to answer questions on topics ranging from market valuations to listing availability and plot ratio, its creators StreetSine said yesterday.

It can also help compare properties and direct consumers to appropriate real estate agents.

"Chatbots are revolutionary in making information accessible. And soon, chatbots will be ubiquitous as an intelligent assistant facilitating transactions in the most natural way," said Mr Jeremy Lee, StreetSine co-founder and chief technology officer.

He added: "Google only returns a bunch of links. AI chatbots return quick answers and get things done for the user."

Sevi - which stands for search, evaluation, valuation and initiate transactions - is available on multiple platforms, including Facebook Messenger, SRX.com.sg, STProperty.sg, SPH digital widgets, SRX Property's Agent Connect and myProperty Tracker.

The best interaction experience is through Facebook Messenger - search "SRX Sevi" in Messenger and anyone can start chatting.

As other carrier platforms such as Whats App and WeChat start to carry chatbots, StreetSine will make Sevi available to them, the company said.

Sevi applies to Singapore residential property, including Housing Board flats, non-landed and landed homes. There are plans to cover commercial properties.
