Pacnet opens $114 million data centre in Paya Lebar

Pacnet, a leading network and technology solutions company, opened its US$90 million (S$114 million) data centre in Paya Lebar on Tuesday.

The new 155,000 sq ft facility is built to have an uptime of 99.98 per cent - the time during which the system is operational - and meets security requirements laid down by the Monetary Authority of Singapore for financial institutions here.

The centre already has customers queuing up, said Mr Giles Proctor, Pacnet's vice-president of data centre construction and operations.

Its customers include telecom carriers, content providers and financial institutions.

This is Pacnet's second data centre in Singapore after its first in Changi. It is connected to Pacnet's other 18 data centres in Asia-Pacific.
