New private home sales surged to 2,793 units in March, nearly four times February's number, as a string of new launches debuted strongly.

Buyers snapped up units at projects such as D'nest in Pasir Ris, Urban Vista in Tanah Merah and Sennett Residence in Potong Pasir, according to data released on Monday by the Urban Redevelopment Authority.

It was a marked increase from the 708 units sold in February. Sales that month were muted owing to the Chinese New Year lull.

Including executive condominiums, the number of private homes sold in March totalled 3,072.
