Microsoft takes 'full responsibility' after $911m EU fine

BRUSSELS (AFP) - US computing giant Microsoft took "full responsibility" on Wednesday for a massive fine imposed for failing to provide clients with a choice of Internet browser, in an error it blamed on its software.

"We take full responsibility for the technical error that caused this problem and have apologised for it," the company said in a statement after the European Commission slapped it with the 561-million-euro (S$911 million) penalty.
