SINGAPORE – Last week was the kind of week where concerns over inflation, the risk of a credit crunch and prospects of a recession continued playing out in the markets and keeping investors on edge.

With market players of all shades showing very little commitment, major global indices dribbled sidewards on relatively low volumes for much of last week. The same scenario is likely to play out this week as Wall Street’s first-quarter earnings season rolls in.
