Market awaits clear signal on interest rates, inflation and China reopening

Soothing sounds from the US Federal Reserve have provided some support to otherwise jittery and volatile equity markets. In Asia, China’s tentative move towards easing its strict zero-Covid regime has also lent some support to market sentiment.

The big question is whether equities can build on a rally that began in late October, but seemed to somewhat go cold during the past week.
